DCI John Luther is still on the job - ex-wife Zoe's boyfriend Mark North doesn't pursue the assault charge - and he now investigates the murder of two police officers who were lured to site by a 999 call and then shot. CCTV footage suggest that someone with a military bearing was in the area and it leads him to Owen Lynch, a former Royal Marine who was discharged due to psychological problems.
